Happiness

One of the genuine forms of happiness, according to me, is when someone else is happy because of you! When that happens, people tend to get a very rare yet good feeling internally which is a subconscious act… Something happened a few weeks ago, and I got just that feeling!

What happened was: - There was a mentally unfit boy who I was told to drop home after classes. On our way, naturally, we started talking to each other. He told me about how there were people in his class who would bully him and mock him about his disabilities. I suggested that he should go to the teacher and complain, to which, he said that he tried doing that, however, his teacher wouldn't listen. I then adviced him to ask one of his friends to help him with this problem and he said, "I don't have any friends in class, everyone teases me." and my instantaneous reply was, "So what!? Am I not your friend?"….  He smiled! I internally felt sad for him, but I was also happy to see the smile on his face! It was a pleasure to see that kid smile. What made me feel happier was that I gave him a reason to smile!

This experience taught me something - I learned that you can be happy not only by self-love or pampering thy self, but also by looking out for someone else's welfare. No doubt it always  starts within you; but others could be a catalyst for you to wish to start!
